Welcome to PantryPal (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how PantryPal collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PantryPal mobile application (“App”).
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
PantryPal allows you to manually enter and manage:
Pantry items
Food inventory details
Expiry dates
Receipt images for scanning
The App may access certain device features to provide functionality:
Camera Access: Used to capture receipt images for OCR scanning.
Receipt Scanning: Receipt images are processed locally on your device using on-device OCR technology. Images are not uploaded or stored on external servers.
Local Notifications: Used to send expiry reminders directly through your device notification system.
PantryPal does not collect or store:
Names
Email addresses
Passwords or account credentials
Location data
Contacts
Microphone recordings
Health information
Analytics or tracking data
We also do not use advertising SDKs or third-party tracking technologies.
All information entered into PantryPal remains stored locally on your device and is used only to:
Display pantry inventory
Track food expiry dates
Generate local expiry reminders
Improve receipt scanning functionality within the App
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to external servers or third parties.
All data is stored locally on your device.
No cloud storage or external database is used.
No personal information is transmitted to our servers.
Deleting the App will permanently remove all stored data from your device.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
PantryPal uses the following third-party services:
RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions. When you purchase or restore a subscription, an anonymous user identifier and purchase receipt are transmitted to RevenueCat's servers to verify your entitlement. No name, email, or personally identifiable information is sent. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
OpenFoodFacts — when you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve the product name and category. No personal data is attached to this request.
Supabase (AI Recipe feature) — when you use "Generate Smart Recipe", the names of your expiring pantry items are sent to a Supabase cloud function which calls an AI model to generate a recipe. Item names are not stored or linked to your identity.
Google ML Kit — receipt OCR runs entirely on-device. No image or text is sent to external servers.
Google Fonts — font files are downloaded from Google's servers on first launch. No personal data is transmitted. See fonts.google.com/privacy.
PantryPal is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us so we can address the issue promptly.
Because all data remains on your device, you maintain full control over your information.
You may:
View your stored pantry data at any time
Edit or delete pantry items individually
Remove all data by uninstalling the App
PantryPal does not provide cloud backup or account synchronization.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected by revising the “Last Updated” date above.
Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
