The team scored 90+ points three times in 1963-64 and lost only one game at home in overtime by 1 point to the Tigers. They met up, again, with Orono and this time beat thr Red Riots. In the SF game it was nip and tuck before the Panthers were edged out by 2 points to the Eagles. This was Coach Spurlings' last season. His teams went to the tourney 3 straight years winning the QF every year. They were EM Runner Up in 1963. His record was 51-19 and 55-22 counting the wins at the tournament.

This was maybe the Panthers best tournament ever. They beat Ellsworth by 3 points, then beat Bar Harbor in the SF game by 3 points in overtime and found themselves in the EM Final vs. Orono. The boys played well all tourney but the Red Riots won by 4 points.

An outstanding season by the boys. They won all eight of their home games and went 6-3 on the road. They handled Dexter quite easily in the QF and met the Red Riots. This game could have went either way but in the end Orono won by 4 points.

Terry Spurling, the new ACI coach, established himself as a winner from the day he was hired. The team played well and even hit the century mark in a game against the Pandas. They had a hard time on the road but were still but one win from making the trip to Bangor.
