Pan Pals is a free Anne Arundel County area pen pal matching service for elementary school-aged children of frontline pandemic workers (Little Pals) to middle/high school-aged teens (Teen Pals). It is founded and managed by a high school student.
We are currently partnered with Anne Arundel Medical Center, Baltimore Washington Medical Center, and Essential Worker Emergency Child Care at the YMCA of Pasadena. Contact us if you would like to partner!
If you are a parent who is on the frontline of the COVID-19 Pandemic response, just sign up each child to be a Little Pal. Once matched with a teen based on common interests and your preferences, your Little Pal can expect to get at least one hand-written letter a week from their own Teen Pal during this national crisis. If your Little Pal writes back (and this is strongly encouraged), your Little Pal will get more letters! Once physical distancing restrictions are lifted for our area, you and your Little Pal will be invited to a Meet 'n Greet Party to meet your Teen Pal in person. Date is TBD.
This pen pal program is completely free of charge and is run by volunteers. It is our way of saying Thank You!!
Our sponsor, Arundel Federal Savings Bank, has donated Writer's Backpacks stocked with writing pads, envelopes, stamps and writing utensils that will be distributed to our Pals. Thank you, Arundel Federal!
