Lucy Feldmann (Founder and Project Director) is a junior at Severna Park High School and has been an avid writer since she learned how to pick up a pencil. Throughout the years, she has penned various essays, plays, theater reviews, and short stories that have earned critical acclaim. In this trying time of COVID-19, Lucy felt compelled to help in the best way she knows how- through written word. Her heart goes out to all the families of medical professionals and frontline workers, particularly their children. In an effort to ease the load of frontline parents, Lucy founded Pan Pals, an organization created to match local teens with the children of medical professionals and frontline workers to give them friendship and support during this tough time. She hopes that by receiving letters through Pan Pals, these children will have more reasons to smile as their parents take on the brave, heroic task of fighting the global pandemic.
For the past three years, Lucy has been a theater camp counselor for middle school and elementary aged children, including running her own neighborhood musical theater summer camp. She writes theater reviews through Cappies Critics, many of which have been published. Her original one-act play, Where Troubles Melt Like Lemon Drops, won Best Play and Best Director at the SPHS One-Act Festival; she was invited to present it at the Best of Maryland Arts Education Festival. Lucy enjoys performing in local musical theater productions and participates in vocal ensemble at her high school. Her Mock Trial team won the regional championship this year. She is currently president of her Thespian troupe.
