Elements of Analytic Geometry

Course specifics: 6 ECTS, 5h x 13 weeks

Schedule for Spring Semester 2023:  Mon 9-12 & Wed 6-8pm

Syllabus

• Vectors, vector calculus, linear dependence in R^2 and R^3 .

• Coordinate systems in R^2 and R^3. Cartesian coordinates, orientation.

• Point - Line - Plane (Equations, relative position)

• Inner product, crossed product, mixed product and geometric interpretation. Applications.

• Area and Volume, lines in R^3.

• Conic sections, basic theory, geometric properties.

• Quadratc surfaces, basic theory, examples and applications.
