PALMS PHYSIOTHERAPY & ALLIED HEALTH
At Palms Physiotherapy & Allied Health (Malaga), Strong Her is a supportive, strength-focused class designed to help women build full-body strength, confidence, and functional fitness in a welcoming allied health environment.
Strong Her is not about “pushing through” or proving anything. It’s about getting stronger in a way that feels safe, achievable, and sustainable—whether you’re new to strength training, returning after a break, or wanting more structure and accountability.
Strong Her is a guided group strength class that typically includes:
lower body strengthening (glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves)
upper body strengthening (shoulders, back, arms)
core and stability work
functional movement patterns (squats, hinges, step patterns, carries—modified as needed)
mobility and flexibility components to support recovery and movement quality
Exercises can be scaled up or down based on your current capacity, confidence, symptoms, and goals.
We support children, adults and older adults with disability, injury, chronic conditions, developmental concerns, communication needs, mobility challenges and rehabilitation goals.
Strong Her can be a great fit if you:
want to build strength and feel more capable in everyday life
are returning to strength training after injury, pregnancy, or a long break
want a structured class without the pressure of a gym environment
want to improve posture, stability, and movement confidence
enjoy group accountability and a supportive atmosphere
If you have significant pain, a complex medical history, or recent surgery, contact us first so we can guide you to the safest starting option.
Palms Physiotherapy & Allied Health offers a range of therapy services and specialised supports. You can browse by therapy area, explore specialised services, or learn more about the facilities and equipment we use in-clinic .
Strength training can support:
improved bone health and long-term mobility
better joint support and stability
improved confidence with daily tasks (lifting, carrying, stairs, getting up/down)
reduced falls risk through stronger legs and better balance
improved energy and resilience over time
Our focus is functional strength—building capacity that translates into real life.
We don’t currently run a dedicated Mum’s & Bub’s reformer time slot, but you are welcome to bring your baby along in their pram to eligible classes as long as bub remains in the pram next to you throughout the session (space and safety permitting).
A typical Strong Her session includes:
warm-up and movement prep
strength blocks (lower body + upper body + core)
options for different levels (progressions/regressions)
technique coaching to support safe loading and good form
short cool-down / mobility work
You’ll be supported to work within your own limits while still progressing over time.
Some people do best starting with an individual consult first (Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology), then transitioning into group classes once they have the right baseline plan and modifications.
If you’re unsure, we can help you choose the best pathway.
Find the right support by discipline, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, exercise physiology and other allied health services.

Is Strong Her suitable for beginners?
Yes. We can modify exercises and help you build confidence with strength training step-by-step.
Is it high intensity?
It’s strength-focused, but it doesn’t need to be high intensity. You’ll work at a level that suits your body and goals.
What if I have back, hip, or knee pain?
Many exercises can be modified. If pain is significant or worsening, we recommend a physiotherapy assessment first so we can guide the safest approach.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes—babies are welcome in their pram next to you, provided safety and space allow and bub stays in the pram for class.
Do I need an assessment before joining?
Not always, but if you’re unsure what’s safe (especially postnatal or post-injury), an initial consult can be helpful.
Are rebates available?
Possibly. Private health rebates depend on your insurer and cover.

We see clients using:

Medicare (where eligible, with a GP referral)
DVA (eligible veterans)
Other funding pathways (e.g., insurers or schemes, where applicable)
Where clinically appropriate, we can provide supporting documentation to inform service planning and care coordination.
As these sessions are ran by qualified allied health professionals, if you have private health insurance, you may be eligible for a health fund rebate, leaving little - if any - out of pocket cost. You can either purchase each session individually, or purchase passes which reduce the cost per session.
1 x Pass $18 ($18/session)
