The renewed and accelerating rise in atmospheric methane represents a significant and urgent climate challenge. Proposals will focus on methane’s sources, sinks, and drivers, providing a comprehensive analysis that can contribute to both scientific understanding and the development of effective, timely mitigation strategies to address this critical component of global warming.
Successful proposals will consider how to continue monitoring methane sources and sinks in the absence of future US participation and without access to large parts of the Arctic. A focus will be on evidence-based approaches.
