"The Palestinian cause is not a cause for Palestinians only, but a cause for every revolutionary, wherever he is, as a cause of the exploited and oppressed masses in our era"
- Ghassan Kanafani
Justice can only be served when Zionist and white supremacist systems that plague our countries are completely eradicated. The liberation of Palestine is intricately intertwined with the liberation of every single oppressed group internationally and in the United States. It is incredibly important to understand this concept of collective liberation when addressing the Palestinian resistance movement. Here are some examples of how the Zionist Occupation has infringed on the rights of many different countries and groups:
On April 15, a war broke out in Sudan's capital of Khartoum between the SAF and a terrorist militia known as the RSF. Since then, the RSF has forcibly displaced, looted, and destroyed Sudani people's homes. In the western region of Darfur, the RSF is ethnically cleansing the tribe of Masalit tribe, some even say committing genocide.
Israel and the UAE have been core benefactors of this war. By funding the RSF financially and with a steady weapons supply chain, Israel wants to ensure that group ruling Sudan after the war will secure Sudan's entrance into the Abraham Accords and further Israel's 'normalization' within the region; gaining both economically and politically.
The majority of Sudanis are against normalization, in solidarity with Palestine and simply because they have seen the havoc and instability the Zionist regime puts on the region.
This crisis is currently ongoing. Here are some resources that detail ways you can help:
Lebanon faces ongoing aggression from Israel - including recent attacks on civilians and a strike on a funeral procession - dating back to before 1948. The continuous assaults weigh heavily on the nation, impacting its people. Journalists' and their families’ lives are at stake, with deliberate targeting by Israeli airstrikes raising concerns about violations of international law and press freedom. These tragic deaths underscore the toll of the conflict, emphasizing the need for accountability regarding potential war crimes.
Since Oct 7th, Israel has strike airports in Damascus and Aleppo several times. However, these attacks conducted by Israel on Syria have not started just recently - Israel has been launching attacks on Syria for years, killing at least 44 people and injuring more than 50 in the past year alone.
Timeline of Israeli attacks on Syria within the past year
Sharing a border with Israel, Egypt is one of the many countries that has fallen victim to the Israeli occupation's brutal aggressions. Historically, Israel has bombed town after town in Sinai, one instance destroying Bahr Al-Baqar primary school killing 30 Egyptian children. Not to mention, Israel's finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, among other officials have demonstrated Israel's intention in creating a 'Greater Israel' encompassing Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.
Since Oct. 7th, Israel has attacked Egypt using two drones targeting residential areas and a hospital in towns near the Red Sea. Israel also bombed the Egyptian border, injuring 7 civillians and many Egyptian soldiers; a clear breach in the Egypt-Israel peace agreement.
For decades, support for Palestine has been an element of the Black Panther Party and the Black Lives Matter movement. Many Black Americans see the Palestinian struggle as reflecting their own fight for racial equality and civil rights. For example, the way Israel holds Palestinians as prisoners without even a trial compares to the racial inequality in the U.S. prison systems.
Palestinians with disabilities remain among the most affected by Israeli aggressions, in Gaza and the West Bank. One victim that comes to mind is Eyad al-Hallaq, a 32 year old autistic Palestinian man, who was shot and killed by Israeli Occupation forces in east Jerusalem on his way to a special-needs institution.
Israel’s two decade long siege on Gaza has limited people with disabilities’ freedom of movement, access to devices, electricity, and technology for them to leave their homes. As Israel continues to target hospitals, medical staff, and clinics, the Gaza healthcare system is facing a crippling collapse. In recent reports, over 1000 children have had a limb amputated without any anesthesia, medications, or sanitary medical equipment. Gazans bound to wheelchairs have been forced to remain in their homes, unable to travel the long distances from zone to zone.
Calling for an end to the Zionist entity brings about disability justice for Palestinians.
Nelson Mandela on Standing with Palestine:
“If one has to refer to any of the parties as a terrorist state, one might refer to the Israeli government, because they are the people who are slaughtering defenseless and innocent Arabs in the occupied [Palestinian] territories, and we don’t regard that as acceptable.” (1990)
“The United Nations took a strong stand against apartheid; and over the years, an international consensus was built, which helped to bring an end to this iniquitous system…but we know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.” (1997)
Zionism oppresses Palestinian women on all fronts, from denying women access to proper health care and sanitary items to sexual abuse in prisons and checkpoints. Intersectional feminism by definition calls for the end of Zionist systems of oppressions.
Greta Thunberg offers her vocal support for Gaza, unleashing a narrative that reaches beyond just carbon footprints.
Meanwhile, global tensions rise as Yemen's Houthi rebels confiscate oil ships in the Red Sea, strategically disrupting Israel and global trade. COP28 becomes a battleground, emphasizing the tension between environmental ideals and the reality of fossil fuel dependence.
