Krishna is a supreme God, he is the God of compassion and love. When Krishna was a baby he was known for his silly and mischievous tricks. Krishna would steal butter any chance he got. As Krishna continued to grow his love for butter only continued to increase. the stories of him stealing butter began to be told around other households. People were all hearing that they needed to keep their butter safe. Krishna's undoubted love for butter led him to get into trouble but also provided good funny stories to share about the almighty God.
On one particular day when Krishna was only a baby he went over to his friend's house and devised a tricky plan to eat some butter. He told his friend to tell their mother that their cow had come loose from his tether. When the mother heard this she instantly ran out to the field to go and chase the cow. When the mother had left the house Krishna and his friend snuck into the kitchen where they found jars of butter. The friend helped lift Krishna up so he could reach it and sure enough he did. When Krishna got the jar of butter they both began to indulge in the sweet and soft taste of the butter. Next thing they knew the monkeys had come into the kitchen and Krishna was sharing all the butter with his friends and the monkeys. While all the friends and monkeys were divulging in the butter they forgot to stop and think about the mother who was soon to return. When the mother returned to her kitchen she found Krishna and his friends, including the monkeys, all eating her butter. She asked Krishna, "Do you think it is okay to steal from me in my house?" Krishna became sad and said to her, "I am so sorry, I thought you were my mother. I did not know you would catch me and beat me," The mother's heart melted and she smiled. Krishna ran home as fast as he could, smiling, because he just ate so much butter.
When Krishna returned home his mother was waiting there to punish him. Although Krishna's intentions were never poor stealing was not tolerated. His mother gave him a nice beating and told him how he would no longer steal from anyone else. Krishna agreed to not steal anymore butter.
Krishna's own sweet will of loving butter seemed to get him into some trouble but he never meant to cause any harm or sadness to anyone. His sweet and loving demeanor left him getting away with his stealing of butter but still always seemed to get him in trouble with his mom.
Author's Note: I wrote this story about the all mighty God Krishna. Krishna is considered a supreme God that is known for is love, compassion and kindness. This story combines food and a great story about Krishna as a young child. Since we spent so much time reading stories about Krishna this semester I thought it would be fun to see some stories about his childhood. Krishna is one of the most profound and popular Gods in India. Butter is a dish that is used often in India and something that is homemade quite often. Butter in India is also known as Ghee. Ghee can be all different kinds of flavors and can have different textures. But ultimately the food is common to the Indian culture and Hindu faith. It can also be considered a sacred food that is often times given to the Gods as an offering. Ghee is made by processing milk fat and letting the fat separate from the water. After that is done the fat is scraped together it makes a clarified butter, known as Ghee.
