Dana shared the following: October 15, 2025: Humbled. Honored. Grateful.
Today, I had the incredible honor of receiving the 2025 Paving the Way Award at the annual Paving the Way Conference in Pittsburgh — a recognition that truly means so much to me. This award represents not just my work, but the collective dedication of an entire community that continues to show up for children and families experiencing homelessness and displacement within the Chester Upland School District
I could never do this work alone.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Superintendent for her consistent support and visionary leadership, our administrative team, counselors, social workers, and staff, as well as the families, students, and community partners who make this mission possible every single day.
To my family and friends—thank you for being my foundation and reminding me why this work matters. Your love and encouragement fuel my passion.
Being in Pittsburgh, surrounded by passionate educators and advocates, hearing powerful keynote speakers, participating in concurrent sessions, and connecting with like-minded individuals continue to reignite my commitment to this mission. The work will never be finished—and that’s exactly why it continues to drive me every day.
Congratulations to all of the 2025 Paving the Way Award recipients and everyone in attendance for the incredible impact you make daily. Together, we are making a difference—one student, one family, and one moment at a time."

Congratulations to our Board Member, Dr. Yonaira Rodriguez. On September 18th, 2025, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Councilwoman Lozada and team recognized her commitment to our Hispanic community with this beautiful citation.
From Dana Bowser: We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month throughout the district at all the different schools. We have formed several multicultural committees. Today we had our kickoff event at STEM Academy that consisted of música, dulces, bailando, decoraciones, arte, etc. We have several events planned throughout the district that include speakers, art, and culture, door decorating, literary figures, poetry readings, a taste of cuisine, and so much more. We are also planning a family and community engagement night as well. Our goal is to ensure that ALL are celebrated, included, and to foster a greater sense of belonging throughout our district.
Shout out to our member Dana Bowser and Chester Upland School District!!!! Keep up the great work, celebrating all of our students and communities!
