Students are to be dressed and ready to dance 15 minutes before the start of your rehearsal. If you are late, you could miss your dance. All dances will run only 1 time unless there is a staging, sound or lighting check. Students and parents are to wait in the audience. When you are in the auditorium you must sit with your class. All dancers and siblings must have parental supervision at all times and should be sitting down quietly. This is a CLOSED REHEARSAL. Each family is allowed to have ONE chaperone. Absolutely no additional family or friends allowed. The ballet dress rehearsals will run closed to 2 hours long, please consider making other childcare arrangements if you feel tha tis too long for your dancer's sibling to sit and wait. No running around the theater! ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE THEATER. Dancers will be sitting in the audience and then be called up to the stage for their turn to dance. Please check all parts of their costume prior to dress rehearsal. Make sure they have the right color tights/socks and shoes. All dancers are to wear stage make-up and have their hair sprayed in the correct style for their class. Stage make-up includes foundation, powder, blush, black eye liner, eye shadow, black mascara and red lipstick. NO BANGS. NO JEWELRY. NO PIERCINGS. NO GUM. Girls, NO UNDERWEAR if you are wearing tights. Your tights ARE your underwear. We don't want to see any princess panties poking out from under their costume. (Combo kids also need to have light make-up: foundation, powder, blush, eye shadwo and lipstick).
Parents, during your child's dance on stage if you notice the stage lights are making them look washed out, put more make-up on them for the recital. You can take photos and video during the dress rehearsal only.
Dancers who are in more than one number, you can change in the dressing room backstage and then sit back with your class when you are finished changing. If you have multiple costumes that require different color tights, put your tan tights on first, then layer the other tights on top. All older female dancers need to wear appropriate undergarments that should be skin toned and completely covered by their costume, no bra straps should be seen.
