Professor
Young-Sik Kim is a professor at DGIST. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Seoul National University in 2001, 2003, and 2007, respectively. He joined Semiconductor Division, Samsung Electronics, and carried out research and development for secure hardware IPs for various embedded systems, especially for smartcards, until the end of August 2010. He was a professor at Chosun University, Gwangju, Korea from September 2010 to August 2023. His research interests include cryptographic engineering and information theory, including post-quantum cryptography, fully homomorphic encryption, vehicular security, hardware security, embedded security, Internet of Things security, physical layer security, and channel coding.
He is also one of the submitters of the following two algorithms in the first round of NIST PQC Standard Competition
(Digital Signature) pqsigRM: Post-quantum signature scheme based on modified Reed-Muller code
(Encryption) McNie: Compact McEliece-Niederreiter Cryptosystem
