Short Bio
Dr.  Young-Sik Kim is an associate professor at Chosun University, Gwangju, Korea. He received B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Seoul National University in 2001, 2003, and 2007, respectively. He joined Semiconductor Division, Samsung Electronics and carried out research and development for secure hardware IPs for various embedded systems, especially for smartcards until the end of August in 2010. His research interests include cryptographic engineering and information theory including hardware security, embedded security, Internet of Things security, physical layer security, data hiding, channel coding, and signal design.

2001년에 서울대학교 전기공학부에서 학사, 2003년과 2007년에 서울대학교 전기컴퓨터공학부에서 각각 석사 및 박사 학위를 취득하였다. 삼성전자에 입사하여 암호 하드웨어 IP개발 업무를 담당하였다. 2010년 9월부터 시작하여 현재 조선대학교 정보통신공학과 부교수로 재직중이다.

주요 연구분야로는 정보보호 및 정보이론 분야로서, 하드웨어 보안, 임베디드 보안, 사물인터넷 보안, 물리 계층 보안, 정보 은닉, 채널 부호화, 신호 설계 등이 있다.
