The Smile Project is an extension of Packing a Smile, teaching and encouraging children to take  action within their community. Packing a Smile has since become not only about giving back to children in hospitals but also about inspiring younger generations to learn about philanthropy and apply such skills. Through various activities such as post card decorating with messages of hope and encouragement, bracelet beading from one child to the next, fundraising campaigns and toy drives, children are able to establish an understanding of what it means to give back to the community and support organizations and causes they are passionate about. 

Packing a Smile welcomes the participation of any community organizations,  families, schools, camps, and more! With an extenisve list of individuals and grpups who have taken part in The Smile Project, we continually welcome the support of new groups to get involved.  

Packing a Smile encourages a variety of ways to get involved. With a variety of routes that can be taken, we would truly apprecaite your support in creating and joining The Smile Project.  Within The Smile Project, there are several opportunities to become a part of!

• Decorating postcards that get packed into each bag, with artwork, words of encouragement and more!

• Conducting a toy drive within the school/community.

• Creation of a Packing a Smile club which incorporates various elements element of all options.

• Stringing Smiles Together: Passing smiles from one child to the next. Inspired by Luxury Group Marriott International’s friendship tree, drawing on Sick Kids Foundation’s Friendship Bracelet Tree in Toronto during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, Packing a Smile is launching a new element of The Smile Project where youth can continue their impact and philanthropy by actively customizing bracelets and Packing a Smile for those who could use one. Each bracelet will get Packed in one of our bags, and delivered to brighten someone’s day.
