Packer COVID-19 Oral Histories

In the Spring of 2020, Packer’s Upper School History Club conducted an oral histories project that documented the Packer community’s experience with COVID-19. Through 15 to 30 minute interviews with various people in the community, including students, teachers, and staff, we recorded people’s feelings, thoughts, and stories about this global pandemic. In the Fall of 2020, we conducted follow-up interviews with some of the same interviewees about their Summer Break and the first three months of school, including their experiences with remote and hybrid school. In addition to posting select parts of each interview in both transcript and video form, these interviews are also archived at the Brooklyn Historical Society and this website is archived at the Brooklyn Public Library so that we can keep a visual record of these testimonies for future generations. As for now, we hope this project is a way for people to stay connected and share their unique personal stories. We hope you enjoy!
