Doing service projects together is one way that our pack's Cub Scouts keep their promise “to help other people.” While a Scout should always do their best to help other people every day, pack service projects let us do service work for a larger number of people. While our scouts are giving service, they are learning to work together with others to do something that’s good for their community.
You'll see Cub Scouts from our pack at the big service events each year in our council - Scouting for Food and Memorial Day Good Turn. We also participate in several other service events. Our pack has adopted the street in front of Hawthorn Elementary and we hold several Street Clean service events throughout the year. We've participated in the annual Veteran's Fishing Day event held in Busch Wildlife Conservation Area where our scouts fish alongside veterans. We also teach our Cub Scouts to leave places better than we found them, so we always work together to clean up campgrounds and other areas where we hold camp outs and other activities before we leave.
