Scout Day is a highly recommended event that is unique to pack 565. Scout Day is held at Von Oven scout camp in Naperville. (It is very close to Naperville Central High School.) On this day scouts come with their families to work on various scout skills. From fire tending and cooking to setting up a tent, scouts will learn and practice things that they will need to know in order to enjoy the outdoors. They will also learn skills like knot tying, and everything is taught to the Cub Scouts by older Boy Scouts from local troops. There is a lot of fun to be had and of course there is food! Please plan on attending this fun day with your scout. The time that will be needed will vary upon rank, but you can figure that your scout will need about an hour. (Any requirements that are earned at Scout Day may be the families responsibility to teach if you are unable to attend scout day.)
