The Dan Beard Council is the administrative body of Scouting America in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. With a geographic are of 12 counties in Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky and an average annual membership of 10,000 families. The Dan Beard Council in one of the larger metropolitan councils in the country and the largest youth organization in the Cincinnati are.
The council administers the Scouting program through 7 districts, providing volunteer support, training, program opportunities, and administrative service such as membership and advancement records, new unit development and unit fundraising opportunities in the for of the annual popcorn sale.
Our Mission
The mission of the Dan Beard Council is to prepare youths and adults in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

To develop young adults who are exceptionally prepared to lead in their own way to make a positive impact in their personal lives, professions, and communities throughout their lifetime.

Scout Achievement Center (SAC)
The Scout Achievement Center opened in July of 2009 and has been quickly recognized as the premier Scouting volunteer training facility and council service center in the nation. As a silver level LEED certified building, the facility was constructed and operates according to green standards and is an example of the conservation and ecologically-sound teachings of the Scouting program. The SAC serves as a great home for Scouting and we invite you to visit and take a tour or have a unit meeting.
The well-stocked Scout Shop offers a great selection and is open during convenient hours for the purchase of books, advancements and awards. Uniforms and camping equipment are also stocked in the Scout Shop to meet your unit’s needs.
