Why Join Cub Scouting?

• If you could give only one gift to the young people who are most important in your life, what would it be? No matter what your family situation is, it is within your power to help these children grow into people with a good feeling about themselves and a genuine concern for others. Cub Scouting can assist you in providing this greatest gift of all.

• Cub Scout-age children benefit developmentally from belonging to a small group of peers. Your child will be a part of a den, a small group of Cub Scouts in the same grade level and who are of the same gender. Through this sense of belonging, children build self-esteem and learn to get along with others. 

• As a parent, you want to be assured that the groups that your child joins will teach values consistent with good citizenship, character development, personal fitness, and leadership. The values we seek to instill are found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

• Family Talent Survey. Welcome to our Cub Scout pack. Cub Scouting is for adult family members as well as youth. We have a fine group of families who have indicated a willingness to help. We invite you to add your talents and interests so that the best possible program can be developed for your child. We hope that you will enjoy being part of our pack’s team and want you to know that whatever you can do to help will be appreciated.

Scouting Safety

In Scouting, we will not compromise the safety of our youth, volunteers, and employees. Safety is a value that must be taught and reinforced at every opportunity. We are all responsible and must hold each other accountable to provide a safe environment for all participants. We are committed to abuse prevention by utilizing:

• Mandatory youth protection training.

• Criminal background checks.

• Banning one-on-one adult and youth interactions.

• Mandatory reporting of suspected abuse to law enforcement.

• A volunteer screening database.

We are committed to injury and illness prevention by integrating safety measures in our handbooks, literature, and training materials, including the Guide to Safe Scouting. We expect leaders to use the four points of SAFE when delivering the program. SAFE Scouting measures include:

• Youth are Supervised by qualified and trustworthy adults who set the example for safety.

• Activities are Assessed for risks.

• Pre-requisite Fitness and Skill levels are confirmed before participation.

• Appropriate Equipment is utilized, and Environmental conditions are monitored.
