Parents Guides to Protecting Your Children From Child Abuse (PDF). This booklet is a basic resource to help parents understand how child abuse happens and keep their children safe. Exercises for parents and children are included.

See page 20 for the Five Topics to Cover with Children. Completing the exercises described in these pages (in the PDF booklet) fulfills the requirements for your Cub Scout to earn their badge or rank and must be completed for each rank earned. The BSA recommends that these exercises be conducted on a regular basis throughout the year.

Cyber Chip Requirements for Grades 1 to 3 (Required or can be replaced by Protect Yourself Rules)

Note: All Cyber Chips will expire annually. Each Scout will need to go to Netsmartz (or see videos below) and complete 2 new resources to recommit to net safety and netiquette. Then, with the unit leader, the Scout can add the new date to the Cyber Chip card or certificate.

Into the Cloud Season 2: (30-minute video of all six episodes) Season 2 of "Into the Cloud" tackles gaming and livestream safety, online enticement and blackmail, cyberbullying, and removing/reporting inappropriate content online. Ideal for kids 10 & under.
Connecting with New Friends Online: (3-minute video) Learn about social media and connecting with friends online.
