Den Meetings vs Pack Meetings
A den meeting is a small-group meeting of Scouts who are all in the same rank/age group — like Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos or AOL.
It’s led by the Den Leader (and sometimes Assistant Den Leaders or parents).
Purpose:
Work on adventures (the requirements toward earning rank badges)
Learn skills, play games, and do hands-on activities
Build teamwork within the den
Typical frequency: Every 2–4 weeks
Attendance: Just the Scouts in that den and their leaders/parents
Uniform: Usually Class B (or Class A if your den prefers)
A pack meeting is the big gathering of all dens together — Lions through AOLs — plus family.
It’s run by the Cubmaster and Pack Committee.
Purpose:
Celebrate achievements (rank, belt loops, awards, etc.)
Recognize Scouts and leaders
Have skits, songs, or ceremonies
Build pack spirit
Typical frequency: Once per month
Attendance: All Scouts, leaders, and families
Uniform: Class A (the full official uniform)
