Pack 119 of Champaign, Illinois has been helping youth have fun and develop character for more than 50 years. Originally chartered in 1969 our charter organization is Champaign West Rotary. We have also enjoyed a long partnership with Robeson Elementary, where we meet regularly.
We are a member Pack of the Prairielands Council, which is based out of Champaign and supports over 2,800 youth in the region. Our Pack is financially self-sufficient and able to provide a quality program at a low cost so that all area youth have an opportunity to enjoy scouting. Though we meet at Robeson Elementary, we welcome members from throughout the Champaign, Urbana and surrounding community, and can help you find a Pack if we're not the best one for you.
We meet every Monday during the school year (except for holidays). We have pack meetings (all grade levels) at least one week each month, while den meetings (grade level activities) are held the other weeks. Through our annual popcorn fundraiser and donations we are able to keep costs minimal while still offering a variety of excursions throughout the year in addition to the regular pack and den meetings. The Pack owns a Pinewood Derby race track, Raingutter Regatta course, extensive den meeting supplies and camping gear which support our Den leaders and events, while also reducing barriers for families to participate in a meaningful way in all our activities. In addition to a robust formal program throughout the academic year we have an active summer program which focuses on outdoor activities.
