Packs & Dens
Scouts can join Cub Scouts beginning their Kindergarten year and continue through the program through 5th grade.
Kindergarteners are Lions, 1st graders are Tigers, 2nd graders are Wolves, 3rd graders are Bears, 4th graders are Webelos and 5th graders are Arrow of Light or AOL for short.
Once a Scout leaves 5th grade, they can bridge over to Scouts BSA and can join a Troop (all girls or all boys troop)
Each level is called a rank and each rank, such as Lions, Tigers, etc, make up a Den.
Each Den has usually 8 to 12 Scouts (all the same grade level) and all the Dens combined (K-5th grade) form a Pack.
There are two types of Scout meetings: Den meetings and Pack Meetings.
In Den meetings, Scouts learn and participate in activities that lead to earning that rank by the end of the Scout year (April/May)
Pack meetings are larger meetings that bring all the Dens together for fellowship and learn what each rank is working on in their Den meetings.
