About me

Hi there, welcome to my website!

Until December 2023, I was a postdoctoral researcher at NOVA University Lisbon, as part of the "Present Democracy for Future Generations" research project. Which means I am now in the job market. I am also a board member of the UPF-Center for Animal Ethics. In 2022, I completed my PhD at Pompeu Fabra University, under the supervision of Iñigo González-Ricoy (UB), José Luis Martí (UPF), and José Juan Moreso (UPF). Before that, I studied Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, and a MA in Political Philosophy at Pompeu Fabra University. During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at the Catholic University of Louvain's Hoover Chair.

I am a political philosopher, working at the intersection of animal ethics and democratic theory. Let me unpack a bit. Democratic theory sometimes assumes away the existence of non-human animals, future generations, children, etc. For some purposes, these idealizations might be useful, or so I am happy to grant. Nevertheless, they are also limited in important ways. In my work, I focus precisely on what these idealizations set aside, exploring the normative issues that arise due to the way in which non-standard political subjects are affected by, or subjected to, democratic decisions. Although I mostly focus on animals, I have also written about future generations. In addition, I am also interested in non-standard democratic decision-making sites, such as the workplace.

You can find me in Google Scholar, PhilPapers, or Twitter. I also have an Academia.edu profile, but it is really outdated. Here you can find my CV (to preserve anonymity, I don't mention here papers under review).
