September 2025
Dear Church Family,
Hard to believe I just typed Sept 1. . . shorter days, cooler nights but glorious sunsets with a harvest moon. Each season has such beauty and wonder.
The Board of Elders met on Aug 21. Some areas covered:
We continue to discuss needed renovations and upkeep to our church, the cost involved and how to best steward the money given.
We continue to look at our policies and procedures, adding and editing as needed. This has helped and continues to help our staff and leadership be consistent in how we make decisions and hold ourselves to account.
We discussed the homeless situation in our immediate neighborhood, how it affects our church and how we can more effectively provide security for our programming while ministering to those who attend. On that note, we do need more volunteers for our security team! Please contact the church office if you are interested in helping.
We discussed our need to be aware of the federal recommendations from the House of Commons Finance Committee’s pre-budget report that threatens to limit or even end charitable status for many faith-based organizations: Recommendation 429: End charitable status for pro-life organizations. Recommendation 430: remove “advancement of religion” as a recognized charitable purpose. The following link helps in contacting your MP regarding these recommendations.
There will be a petition in the front foyer for the next few Sundays for you to sign if you wish.
We reviewed the list of volunteers for our church ministries. We are encouraged to see new volunteers and returning volunteers. Thank you for your willingness to be involved! If you haven’t done your Plan to Protect training, please do so by the end of September so we can continue with our fall programming. It is important that we follow our policy in doing this training along with getting the volunteer applications submitted. Thank you ahead of time. This adds to the security and accountability of our ministries.
A highlight was hearing from the elders how they are reading books, listening to podcasts, videos etc. on evangelism and then putting into practice what they are being challenged to do. The common thread is our fear of man as we share our faith and ask questions regarding faith. Be encouraged! We are on this journey together.
In His Service,
Sharon Ardell, Board Chair
Please pray though our vision and mission statements, that they will ring true in our hearts as a congregation as we start a new ministry season in our church.
Vision: To see lives transformed through Jesus Christ in our church and community.
Mission: We are a community of people growing together in knowing God and making Him known.
Pray that we can provide a safe and secure place for PAAC ministries.
Pray as we start the routine of getting back to Sunday School and 10:45 morning services. May we be committed to meeting together as Heb 10:25 instructs.
Pray that PAAC be filled with the Lord’s joy as we serve together.
Pray for anointed preaching and teaching and worship leading. Pray that we would sense the Lord’s blessings, leadership, direction and guidance as we prepare, as we do and as we call people to decision and response. May we not only challenge but may our ministry encourage the body for our joy and the Lord’s glory!
Pray for Volunteers – that they have a heart for their ministry!
Pray that every child and every youth grow spiritually this year.
Pray that young people and congregants to step up into leadership.
That PAAC will be a church where people will feel welcomed so that they will have no hesitancy inviting friends and new people we meet in the community.
Pray that our community groups would be able to experience more of Christ in their groups and their lives individually. Pray especially for those who lead and facilitate their groups, that they would be able to navigate complex issues that arise.
Pray for the Young Adult community of our church. They are in a time of transition and we, as a church family, need to be intentional in establishing connections within this community.
Pray for the startup of all the programming, that volunteers would be many and that hearts would be touched and transformed by the gospel.
Pray for Pastor Liam and Rhiannon (Kastor) as they begin ministry with us, that they would find PPAC a welcoming place to minister and do life with others.
Pray that we would be a place of hope and healing for those grieving, suffering loss and/or sick.
