Meet our athletes
Justin Foscue, a standout infielder from Huntsville's Grissom High School (Class of 2017) and Mississippi State, was selected 14th overall by the Texas Rangers in the 2020 MLB Draft. As a polished right-handed hitter, he quickly rose through the minors and made his MLB debut with the Rangers on April 5, 2024, representing a premier baseball talent from Alabama.
High School: Starred at Virgil Grissom High School in Huntsville, where he was named City Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017, playing shortstop.
College: Played at Mississippi State (2018–2020), becoming the 16th first-round pick in school history and the highest-drafted second baseman in their program's history.
Draft & Pro Career: Drafted 14th overall in 2024 to the Texas Rangers.

Hueytown High School (Graduated 1998): Brown was a star player at Hueytown High School before attending the University of Alabama, where he won the Johnny Bench Award.
Professional Career (2002–2008): After being drafted in the first round by the Oakland Athletics—a move famously chronicled in Moneyball—he played professionally until his retirement in February 2008.
Grissom High School (2022–Present): Brown was named the head baseball coach at Grissom High School in Huntsville in the summer of 2022 and has since led them to multiple successful seasons, including a 2024-25 Area Championship.
