Arnaud Szmalec

I graduated from Ghent University with a master in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology and a PhD in Psychological Sciences (2005).

In 2012, I joined the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) as lecturer in cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics in the Psychology and Speech Therapy programs. I am currently president of the UCLouvain school of Speech Therapy and of the Bachelor programs in Psychology.

I manage the research lab Psyllab since 2013. We investigate the (neuro-)cognitive basis of first and second language acquisition in healthy and clinical populations.

I also have a private clinical practice from where I offer forensic psychological assessments. I am also a visiting professor at Ghent University and a member of the National Committee for Psychological Sciences at the Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Belgium.
