MOLECULAR IMAGING & PROBE DEVELOPMENT LAB AT GMU
Our laboratory aims to develop transformative fluorescent probes and click chemistry technologies leveraging our laboratory’s unique multidisciplinary strengths in organic synthesis, fluorescence spectroscopy, and cellular biology. We also pursue diagnostic applications of our developed tools, particularly for cancer, fibrosis, and other human diseases, in our laboratory and through collaborations. Our research is broadly divided into three areas:
(1) Developing fluorescent tools using click chemistry for imaging fibrosis, cancer and other human diseases
(2) Developing tunable fluorophores for metal-sensing in biological systems
(3) Developing new visible-light photocatalysis methods for pro-drug conjugation systems
