Mental Health & Stress Management

The Children’s Room offers hope and healing to children and teens ages 3½ to 18 who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. We also provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to meet with each other and talk about their own experiences parenting a grieving child, and to give and receive support around their own grief.

Our services include ongoing peer support groups, educational series for parents, teen programming, monthly arts-based family nights, and adult consultations. All of these services are provided free of charge. We also provide referrals and resources to families who are looking for additional grief-related services.

Although loss is an inevitable part of life; the experience of a significant loss such as death, divorce, or separation from a primary caregiver challenges us all, especially children. The Good

Grief Program seeks to equip families with the tools needed to process their grief experience and to promote lifelong resiliency.

The Youth Grief Support Program serves 21 schools within the Westfield, Southwick, and Agawam public school systems. We recognize that children are not “little adults,” and that even though they're young and resilient, they need help navigating difficult times.

There is no charge to the families or to the school systems for this program.

KidsGrief.ca is a free online resource that helps parents support their children when someone in their life is dying or has died. It equips parents with the words and confidence needed to help children grieve life’s losses in healthy ways.

Aunt Bertha, a leading social care network, helps connect individuals and families to free and reduced-cost social services in their communities. These programs include COVID-19-specific assistance, such as food delivery and help paying for bills.
