Homeostasis
Summary
These are a couple important assignments I did about homeostasis. I take you through the process and explain what I learned and how I learned it, with the help of the class. Each concept helped me understand what I was doing and this applied in and outside of class. I can't go over everything, but I can breifly decribe what happened.
Research Homeostatsis
After choosing the homeostasis we wanted to learn about, we did research. This research culminated into out final project for the homeostasis unit. I learned a lot about our type of homeostasis and got a deeper understanding. Then we started to brainstorm for the type of experiment we want to conduct that proves our homeostasis
Graphic Orginizer
The graphic orginizer is where we orginzed or thought and data. This includes our hypothosis, procedure, design, experiment, materials, results, ect. This is where we started to format our research and results into the final project. We came up with a procedure, that was later changed, and ran our tests. This was the foundation of the final project.
Body Systems Poster
This is where we learned avout body systems. How organ systems are made up of organs, obviously. How organs are made up of tissues and tissues are made of cells. This was important because we need these things for homeostasis to work. This helped us better comprehend was was going on durring homeostatsis.
Advertisment Poster
This helped us better understand the scientific process in a fun way. We choose an add and tried to test it to see if the claims are true. We made a hypothosis and discovered the independant/ dependant varible. Also the control group/ treatment group and other things that go along with the scientific process. This helped us get a better understand of the scientific process so we could form better reaserch.
Labortory Write Up
This was the final project. After our research we put everything we know and found out in this slide. It culminated into a great presentation with everything needed. Even though are expirement was a bust I learned a lot through this project. We have the abstract, intro, hypothosis, procedure, data tables, graphs, ect. It tops it all off with the Analysis and conclution where we explain why the expirment was flawed and the important thing we got out of it.
Final Homeostasis poster
This poster was our lab write up, but formated on one thing. So on the poster it shows the efforts of our research wich culminated into this. Reflection
In this unit, it was difenatly better because we are now in person, but because of covid, it's still not fantastic. I would say that one thing that I did good was collaboration because I can see people again. We connected with each other and it was a lot easier. Another thing I did well is or had fun doing was the testing. We went went outside to the track it was such a good time. One thing that did not go so well was getting behind on some assignments. I don't think I had anything missing, but I am struggling to complete stuff on time, but that is not this class fault. I also didn't enjoy the amiba sisters videos and notes. It wasn't making me think ctititcally so I was getting tired of it and it was kind of a drag. Other than that I'm pretty happy with the in person learning and being at school doing STEM. Seems like more cool stuff has yet to come so I am excited.
