Instructors 

CDR Rob Whitecotton retired from the US Navy after 20 years. His military background includes Aviation Maintenance, Surface Warfare, and HRIS Program Management. He enjoys teaching Naval History and helping Oviedo High School students achieve their goals and become who they want to be. 

Chief Dan Trainor joined the Navy from Hickory, North Carolina in October of 1991. He spent 20 years in the Navy as an Electronics Technician. His duty stations include NCTAMS WESTPAC Guam, USS Tarawa (LHA-1), NNPTC Charleston, SC, USS Vicksburg (CG-69), RTC Great lakes, IL, USS Halyburton (FFG-40). 

After retiring from active duty in 2011, Chief Trainor became a Maintenance Manager at Plastic Packaging, Inc. in Hickory, NC. Chief Trainor then went into teaching NJROTC in 2016. He was hired at Oviedo High School to start the 2023-2024 school year.

Chief Trainor is married to Tamala Trainor and has two daughters, Morgan and Wrenn.
