Along all "3" sides of the Ship there are detectors that visually nothing more than a few dozen sensors above the water line. When activated the system will detect when a bracelet or lanyard passes by and it will INSTANTLY set off an alarm. No learning later and turning back, the ship knows right now as to if somebody has gone overboard, where they went overboard and who has gone overboard; and verify that overboard. Once triggered and verified the system will instantly launch an ROV watercraft and a Drone which will seek out the passenger, keep their safe distance and deploy needed support. As the ship stops its motors the ROV can return to the ship with the person in a raft or in tow. Overboard, deploy, retrieved and returned; all before the ship turns around, its possible.
The system will date time and show these results and more when triggered.
We hope using this system a person who falls overboard is only in the water for less than 5 minutes, into a single person liferaft and then brought by the ROV craft back to the Ship. Its not a matter of IF THIS CAN WORK, its only: can we do this in 5 or 6 minutes. All this has been done before. The actual ship will return to the wristband, lanyard or the ROV once it is GPS targeted and coordinates are established.
After the ROVs and or Drones are launched the system will acknowledge and date log these items and more for historical data.
In between the system is on and pre-set verbal commands override the PA system to where the whole Ship hears whats happening and can help visually? Once launched the ROV and Drone are able to communicate with the person in the water via microphones, speakers and cameras. Direct visual communications with the person may be helpful to a quick recovery or at least calm them until further help arrives.
Once the system is triggered you send in support. Make note our support FLY'S off the ship RIGHT NOW. Count it, one banana, two banana, three; help is on its way, three seconds behind. There is no reason in today's world to lose a person off a ship and NOT send help...
