Participant profile

Dear partners,

We put a lot of effort and focus to create a training course that offers participants knowledge and abilities in a new and enhanced inclusive style through using the principles of outdoor experiential education.

Throughout the project, they will learn about inclusion and inclusive education and about connected non-formal and outdoor activities with focus on their development and on the tools to develop the youth they are working with, starting to practice during the project days with the young people from the high-school.

Based on these, to obtain the impact we want, the profile of our participant is:

-youth worker (that works daily with youngsters - any level of experience, from inside or outside the organization);

-18+;

-interested and highly motivated in developing his/her skills in inclusive education and with a vivid interest of doing so with the help of non-formal outdoor experiential education;

-with a strong determination to transfer the methods in his/her daily work and to promote inclusive education in his/her community and beyond;

-with a strong desire to share his/her own experiences and learning outcomes and use them as tools to improve their skills/methods and the ones of the youth they are working with;

-English level should not be eliminatory, but it would be recommended to be at least B1;

-youth workers with fewer opportunities should have priority in the recruiting, keeping in mind that the most important selection criteria are the bolded ones above and the fact that we are delivering methods of practical inclusion through outdoor education activities of medium level difficulty.

Obs.: The project is not created for outdoor experts, but for youth workers that are interested to integrate in their work methods that favour inclusion of youngsters with mobility or visual impairment. The physical level of difficulty of the methods is low, but the specific outcomes about how to actually work with outdoor inclusive education having a group with participants with special needs is high level.

According to this profile, we decided to change a bit the recruiting process to assure the best match of the participants with the needed profile. Please support us through this process.

From each partner country we will select 4 participants. The final selection will be made based on the recommendations of the partners and group interviews with all candidates made by the organizing team. The recruiting will be splitted in 2 main parts, as we will host pax from inside and outside the partner organizations - to offer greater impact to the project:

-organizational recruiting, made locally by the partner organizations;

-on Salto, made by the organizing team.

We are reccomending to you the following recruiting stages and deadlines:

  1. Recruiting of participants (partners+Salto - shared Excel) - between 1 February and 1 March
  2. List of recommended candidates (min 6) for the interviews from each partner - deadline 1 March
  3. Interviews, recommendations of the partners, deciding on the final pax list and reserve list - deadline 15 March
  4. Results - 16 March
  5. All travel arrangements done - 31 March.

Please let us know if you wish to do the recruiting internally or through the reccomended means.

Recruiting tools:

-we will create an application form with questions for all partners to use that we will also post on Salto, this way all applicants will be in the same file (shared with all partners);

-pax that are selected for the interviews will fill another form that will contain their CV and motivational letter prior to their interview (this will be one of the eliminatory conditions);

-on 16 March results will be published and participation confirmed by the pax.

Thank you in advance for your efforts and great contribution to this project!
