Submit a Patent @ OUSL

As per the Intellectual Property Policy of OUSL all the Intellectual property related things will be managed through the Industry Liaison Centre of the OUSL.


  • Whenever there is a new Invention, the Inventors shall submit an Invention Disclosure Form to the ILC.

  • The ILC will do a Prior Art Search and let you know the Patentability of your Invention.

  • Based on the Patentability and the IP value of your invention, required protection methods will be suggested.

  • If you are submitting a Local Patent at NIPO following Documents will be required


  • Draft Application and documents shall be forwarded to ILC for review.

  • ILC will include all other documents including Cover Letters.

  • If the documents are correct the ILC will send them for the Signature of Vice-Chancellor.

  • Once the Vice-Chancellor signed the application the ILC will submit it to NIPO.

  • ILC will issue the reference numbers for the Inventors.

  • All the Documents will be maintained in a separate file for each application at ILC.

  • ILC will directly follow up with NIPO until the patent is granted.
