Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence” 

Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence” organized by the Industrial Liaison Centre in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering held on 04th January 2020 in the Computer lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Mr. Darshana Abeyrathna, the speaker shared information on meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), Training ANNs with ordinary Backpropagation algorithm, Training ANNs using meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, advanced forms of ANNs (recurrent and convolutional NNs), and Tsetlin Machine.

Digi Edu Hack’19

The Industry Liaison Centre organized the Digi Edu Hack’19. This was a Hackathon for quick prototyping of Educational Technology solutions. 120 participants worked for over 36 hours. A panel of experts from the industry served as mentors and evaluators of projects. A preparatory workshop on design thinking was conducted by  Mr. Peter Argent, CEO, Technology / Innovation / Design.

Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights” conducted by Mr. Trishan Perera, the Manager of University Business Linkage of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura held on 29th September 2020 at the Board Room Faculty of Engineering Technology, OUSL.

Junior Robotic Workshop for the children of staff members of OUSL

Robotics can also be a fun stepping-stone for getting a child interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects that can lead to amazing careers later in life. IndustrY Liaison Centre successfully completed a “Junior Robotics (Robot technology)" workshop for the children of the Open University Staff.  The workshop conducted by Mr. Ranjan Kulathunga, Senior Design Engineer in Zone 24x7 (Pvt) Ltd. held on 17th April 2019 at the seminar room, Automobile Lab. 

ILC organized a Seminar on “Getting Started Android Things with Raspberry Pi and Fire-base"  in collaboration with IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka on 29th March 2019 in the Computer lab, Department of Computer Science at OUSL. Mr. Chathura Dilan Perera, the resource person of the day presented how to install android things on Raspberry Pi.

Seminar on “Block-chain!!! 

Mr. Priyal Walpita presented how Blockchain be used to streamline the operational aspects of organization providing secure deployment environments on 5th July 2019 at Seminar room, Faculty of Natural Sciences, The Open University of Sri Lanka.

Seminar on “SolidWorks” Workshop

The ILC organized a seminar on "SolidWorks" in collaboration with IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka on 14th March 2019 in the Computer lab, Department of Computer Science. The speaker, Mr. Ranjan Kulathunga presented about CAD Design Tools and Resources.

The Tech Talk for November by Mr. Manjulal Waas, Senior manager of Vendor Management of Zone 24x7 (Pvt) Ltd. was jointly organised by the ILC with IESL & IEEE student chapters.
