CarmenSylva Pedagogical National College

"Carmen Sylva" Pedagogical National College from Timisoara inherits a history with many great names and good deeds, since 1881 functioning in a Victorian -built Neo-Gothic building. After the completion of the Romanian national unity and the establishment of Great Romania, the Romanian High School of Girls began to function in the same building since 1918. This year, at the 100th anniversary of the Romanian language education, the school's mission is to "maintain" the quality of its services, adding value to the secular experience of the Romanian normal and theological schools, high schools from the interwar period and the more recent experience of our theoretical high school education. In the school year 2019-2020, alongside the primary and secondary classes, there are 20 high school classes with two branches: vocational and theoretical, 100 teachers and 1500 students. Apart from the 2 vocational branches(Pedagogy and Theology), our students learn the following subjects: Math-Informatics, Natural Sciences and Philology .Some of our school’s achievements are to be mentioned: our students participated to the International Zero Robotics Contest, organized by NASA and held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where they programmed spatial robots, called SPHERES;In 2014 they have attended a national high school contest, making a video about their school thus, being the winners of a smart classroom which brough hi-tech in the teaching-lerning process.Since 2016, our school has been partner in many Erasmus+projects, which are welcomed both by the students and the teachers.

Our school being on the top best schools in the west region, has always been keen on making the students aware of the link between past,present and future.This is the major motivation for our school to take part to international projects, in which tradition is mixed with modernity, having as an outcome the interconnection between students and teachers involved in Erasmus projects, where learning from one another is a life skill.
