Rattlesnake dens were prevalent in the mountain community and on his homestead. This snake was moderately long. Rattlesnakes are poisonous and W.C. tried to protect his family and animals by keeping them under control.

The covered wagon was a participant in the Woodlake Parade with W.C. and Essie Tarbell.
