Dr. Chun-Hsien Chu received his Ph.D. degree in the Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology from the College of Medicine at Chung Shan Medical University. After graduation, Dr. Chu conducted his postdoctoral research at National Cheng Kung University and the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NC, USA, to gain interdisciplinary research training in the area of neuroinflammation, neuroimmunology, and neurotoxicology. Overall, Dr. Chu has published ~60 papers related to the field of biomedicine, molecular neurobiology, microglial biology, and neuroimmunology. In 2022, Dr. Chu launched the neuroimmunology laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, National Cheng Kung University. His research interest lies in understanding cell-cell communications among neurons, astroglia, microglia, and oligodendrocytes under conditions of brain homeostasis, innate immune memory, and diseases such as autistic spectrum disorder and Alzheimer's disease, utilizing a quadruple brain cell co-culture system, single-cell RNA sequencing technology, and transgenic animal model.
