We love the Arboretum in Worcester - so do so many others ...

The Arboretum ...a collection of around 500 Victorian houses that have changed very little (apart from the occasional blite) since the late 19th century. The more you look, though, the more you find out about the people, the places, the history/heritage/archaeology of the area.
Just talking to folks that you meet enables you to discover all sorts of things and when you hear the same thing or name or place more than once, you want to find out more!
