About

The current OU chapter of the AAUP was founded in 2020, in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. We strive to include and represent all workers at the University of Oklahoma, including faculty, staff, and student workers. In recent years, we have advocated for academic freedom to teach race and gender topics in OU classrooms by countering repressive Oklahoma legislation and executive orders to restrict the freedom to teach these topics. We have also supported the right of OU faculty to know the actual grade appeal rules at OU.
