How do I sign up?
To be on the team, there are 3 registrations that you must complete:
RVAA Membership - all swimmers who compete in Monday night meets and at City/County must be registered with our league, the Roanoke Valley Aquatic Association. Register by May 28 to swim in the first meet.
OP Pool Membership - enjoy all that the pool has to offer outside of practice.
We have included the pool registration form on our Communication page.
OP Swim Team Membership - allows swimmers to attend practice and team events throughout the season. Fees will cover equipment, supplies, and coaches' salaries for the summer.
We have included the Team Newsletter on our Communications page. You will find the registration form on the final page of our newsletter.
*In addition to these 3 registrations, each family is asked to pay $25 that will go toward swim meet concessions and our July 4th cookout. This is a one-time payment and is in lieu of food donations.
How competitive is the swim team?
We welcome everyone and have a wide range of ages and ability levels on our team.
Can adults swim too?
Yes! At OP we love our adult swimmers, and sometimes the adults have more fun than the kids! Our league includes age categories for all, from our 6 & unders to our 70 & overs. Even if you are not a competitive swimmer, we would love to have you on the team!
Do I have to come to every practice and every meet?
We understand that families have vacations, camps, and other summer plans that will keep them from attending practices and meets. We encourage you to come when possible!
