Introduction to PAX Tools: Strategies for Community Settings

PAX Tools® , developed by PAXIS Institute, are a collection of research informed strategies that help adults create nurturing spaces that promote behavioral and social skills in children. This session will overview the scientific foundation of the prevention strategies that are a part of PAX Tools, with a specific focus on the trauma-informed nature of the approaches. Participants will receive information about the scope of PAX services that Nationwide Children’s Hospital provides and the applicability of PAX Tools to a variety of youth worker roles. In addition, participants will be exposed to 2-3 PAX Tools to gain an in-depth understanding of how the strategies may apply in their settings.
