Welcome New Team Members
HotSchedules is our scheduling system. It may be accessed at www.hotschedules.com or from your preferred app store. Just search for "HS Team". If you need help accessing your account, please see reach out to Heather or Frank.
If you have questions or concerns regarding the schedule please email the scheduling leader.
Schedule requests (Prefer Not to Work) are used when a Team Member needs time off that falls within their normal availability. All schedule requests need to have a reason for the request, or they will not be accepted.
As working on the weekends (Friday, Saturday) is a condition of employment with us, schedule requests for those days should be reserved for important events (weddings, family events, proms, etc....) or partial day requests (morning SATs, Avengers 12 evening showing, birthday party, etc.…)
Schedule requests are granted based on the needs of restaurants.
All Schedule requests including availability request changes MUST be submitted by Monday @ 11:50pm for the following weeks schedule.
Requests submitted via any other method will, NOT be accepted except for emergency situations.
Releasing a shift is a great way for Team Members to accommodate sudden changes in their week. It is important to remember that releasing a shift only allows another Team Member to pick that shift up pending manager approval. If no Team Member picks it up, it is still your responsibility to work that shift.
If a Team Member is consistently releasing shifts for reasons that should have been timely schedule requests, they will very likely see a reduction in hours and possibly be removed from the schedule.
Availability is when a Team Member is available to work as agreed upon when they were offered employment and signed in the offer letter.
It is not when the Team Member would prefer to work, but when they are available to work. Team Member availability should only change occasionally for certain reasons. Some examples include new school schedule, new sport season, school breaks, etc.…
Team Member availability should not change every week nor be changed for a vacation or special event.
Availability Change Requests are due Monday’s @ 11:50pm. Requests without a reason, within the first 90 days of employment or those not following the guidelines outline above will be denied
You may put in a request for a day off and be confronted by a blocked day. This is a day on which schedule requests are not accepted. This could be due to high volume (Black Friday), a special event (Selling Food at an off site event), or simply a day with a large number of requests (A large gathering of people who think Thanos is really the hero).
Don’t despair completely. There may be options still available to you. Please email scheduling@cfaoswego.com with the details your request. We will do our best to accommodate the request. You may have an event that would allow you to be off on a blocked day (your Wedding), but you also may be required to work.
We are accommodating, but we do have a business to run and guests to provide reMarkable service to.
Remember the earlier you get your request in, the more likely it will be that you will get it.
That is the question that you will hear your scheduling manager ask if you try to circumvent our clearly laid out policies.
So please, do not send in last minute availability changes, do not send in availability changes without an explanation, do not send in availability changes that include “unavailable” on Saturday, and do not change your availability every week. It’s important to be respectful to those making the schedule and your fellow team members by following these rules.
If you are unable to come to work due to sickness, you must call the store as soon as you know that you are unable to come in. Please release your shift & send a slack message to the team as well. If you are going to be out multiple days, please let leadership know & release those shifts as well
Please do not call, text or message a member of the leadership team. If they are working, they are not actively checking messages. If they are not working, we want to respect their time off.
The Leaders at the store will be able to help you faster if you call the store directly.
That’s OK, it happens! Just talk to any Leader and they will have one of our skilled Hotschedules experts show you how to get around on it.
