Day 14, Tues

Free Weekend!

This weekend, July 1st and 2nd, we were free to go where we pleased! I had plans for Sunday and a rough plan for Saturday, which I didn't end up doing, but was very much looking forward to hitting the town on my own. I was planning on doing a self-guided walking tour of Utrecht on Saturday, but instead took the morning to rest and read in

my room. I got up around lunch time and took the tram up to Den Hague to wander around the shopping area, where I got a couple gifts for my friends and family, and a couple lego sets too! I made it back to the hotel and met up with Bryce, and we biked over to the Indian restaurant we had walked to as a big group last week to get food and check out something we had seen the first time we'd gotten food there.

For Sunday, I took the train and the bus out to the beach, and wandered around there until the afternoon, when I headed back. It was my first time taking the bus, but, like the tram and the train, I could use the planner app to find which train/tram/bus to take and where, and used my OVFiets card to pay for all of it! It was so handy, I really love it. The transportation is definitely the main thing I'm going to miss.
