Mr. Sami M. AlZahrani is a Graduate Teaching Assistant joined the RTHL in 2025 to pursue a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His current research focuses on reactor thermal hydraulics, two-phase flow, and thermal-fluid modeling. His work involves developing analytical and finite-difference numerical models for homogeneous equilibrium flow and annular boiling using MATLAB and engineering numerical methods. His research interests include phase-change modeling, thermal-hydraulic system analysis, and sustainable energy applications.
Sami recently presented his work, “Uncertainty from Constant-Fluid-Properties Approximation in the Homogeneous Equilibrium Model,” at the 2026 ANS Student Conference in College Station, Texas. He also served as the Vice President of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Student Chapter at The Ohio State University and currently as an Elected Delegate for the Graduate Student and Postdoc Advisory Council (GPAC)
