1. 10. 2023. 

U jutarnjim satima vlakom iz Vinkovaca pošao sam u pravcu Ljubljane, na moju prvu, a našu posljednju mobilnost u sklopu Erasmus+ projekta Osloni se na IKT. Predvečer autobusom iz Ljubljane stižem u Kamnik, mjesto u kojem se nalazi Osnovna škola Toma Brejca gdje sam u trajanju od pet nastavnih dana promatrao rad učitelja i njihovu primjenu digitalne tehnologiju u obrazovanju učenika.

In the morning, I took the train from Vinkovci to Ljubljana, for my first and our last mobility as part of the Erasmus+ project Lean on ICT. In the early evening, I arrived in Kamnik by bus from Ljubljana, where the Tomo Brejc Elementary School is located, where I observed the work of teachers and their use of digital technology in the education of students for five teaching days.

2. 10. 2023. 

Prvoga dana aktivnosti mobilnosti po dolasku u školu dočekao me je gospodin Iztok Škof, učitelj informatike i osoba zadužena za stručnu tehničku podršku ostalim djelatnicima škole. Gospodin Iztok je jedan od koordinatora Erasmus+ projekata koje provodi Osnovna škola Toma Brejca te je upoznat s aktivnostima u programima mobilnosti. Pripremio mi je bio raspored aktivnosti vodeći računa o ciljevima našeg projekta. Uslijedio je ugodan razgovor s ravnateljicom škole gospođom Mojcom Rode Škrjanc. Predstavljena mi je škola te smo razmijenili iskustva o obrazovnim sustavima naših zemalja. Osnovna škola Toma Brejca je impozantna i kao građevina i kao škola u kojoj se obrazuje oko 730 učenika. Škola je izgrađena 1939. godine, a u periodu od 2012. do 2014., stara dama - kako su je od milja zvali, doživjela je obnovu.

On the first day of the mobility activity, when I arrived at the school, I was greeted by Mr. Iztok Škof, a computer science teacher and the person in charge of professional technical support for other school employees. Mr. Iztok is one of the coordinators of the Erasmus+ projects implemented by Tom Brejca Elementary School and is familiar with activities in mobility programs. He prepared a schedule of activities for me, taking into account the goals of our project. This was followed by a pleasant conversation with the principal of the school, Mrs. Mojca Rode Škrjanc. The school was presented to me and we exchanged experiences about the educational systems of our countries. Tom Brejc Elementary School is impressive both as a building and as a school where about 730 students are educated. The school was built in 1939, and in the period from 2012 to 2014, the old lady - as she was fondly called - underwent renovation.

Ubrzo po obilasku škole uslijedila je prva aktivnost praćenja rada dva nastavna sata geografije. Oba nastavna sat učiteljica geografije realizirala je u informatičkoj učionici. Na prvom su nastavnom satu učenici sedmog razreda dobili zadatak izraditi seminarski rad putem programa Microsoft Word. Uvodne upute učenicima su predstavljene putem računala i projektora, a potom je svaki učenik dobio rubriku za vrednovanje vlastitog rada. Istaknuo bih kako je od samog početka učiteljica učenicima skretala pozornost na zaštitu autorskih prava i pravilno citiranje i navođenje literature. Učenici su ograničeni na dva izvora, a to su enciklopedija koju imaju u školi i web stranica https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/. Prilikom početnih informatičkih poteškoća pomoć u radu s programom Microsoft Word pružao je i učitelj Iztok. Na drugom nastavnom satu s učenicima osmog razreda ogleda se još veća samostalnost učenika. Nakon uvodnih uputa uslijedila je istraživačka nastava. U opuštenoj atmosferi, uz glazbu povezanu s nastavnim sadržajima koje obrađuju, učenici samostalno istražuju i ispunjavaju zadatu aktivnost.

Shortly after the tour of the school, the first activity of monitoring the work of two geography lessons followed. The geography teacher conducted both lessons in the computer classroom. In the first lesson, seventh-grade students were given the task of creating a seminar paper using the Microsoft Word program. Introductory instructions were presented to the students via computer and projector, and then each student received a rubric for evaluating their work. I would like to point out that from the very beginning, the teacher drew students' attention to copyright protection and proper citation of literature. Students are limited to two sources, which are the encyclopedia they have at school and the website https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/. Teacher Iztok also provided help with the Microsoft Word program during the initial IT difficulties. In the second lesson with eighth-grade students, the students' independence is reflected even more. The introductory instructions were followed by research classes. In a relaxed atmosphere, with music related to the teaching content they are working on, students independently explore and complete the assigned activity.

3. 10. 2023. 

Drugi dan započeo je promatranjem tzv. tehničkog dana, nešto poput integrirane nastave. Učenici su bili podijeljeni u grupe te su učili o sigurnosti u prometu s ciljem osposobljavanja za sigurno sudjelovanje u prometu kao bicikliste. Promatrao sam dva sata tehničke kulture koja su se odvijala u informatičkoj učionici. Učenici su se putem računala prijavljivali na sustav nalik Moodlu te su rješavali jedan dio biciklističkog ispita. Provjera znanja nalik je kvizu, a osim provjere znanja učenicima su dostupni i materijali za učenje.

The second day began with the observation of the so-called technical day, something like integrated teaching. The students were divided into groups and learned about traffic safety to train them for safe participation in traffic as cyclists. I observed two lessons of technical culture that took place in the computer classroom. The students logged into a Moodle-like system via computer and solved one part of the cycling exam. The knowledge test is similar to a quiz, and in addition to the knowledge test, learning materials are also available to students.

U nastavku sam promatrao fantastičan sat s učenicima četvrtog razreda. Učiteljica je uvod u sat matematike započela s ponavljanjem poznavanja tablice množenja metodom Uhvati i baci. Učiteljica je usmeno postavljala pitanja i bacala lopticu, a učenici su uz potpunu koncentraciju hvatali lopticu i odgovarali na postavljeno pitanje. Zatim su učenici kroz igru Dan-noć ponovili višekratnike broja pet. Učenicima četvrtoga razreda su se pridružili učenici iz sedmog razreda te su uz njihovo posredovanje rješavali matematičke probleme uz uporabu tableta. Na kraju su se zabavili uz pjesmu na engleskom jeziku te ujedno ponovili kako se izgovaraju brojevi do dvadeset na engleskom jeziku.

Below I observed a fantastic class with fourth graders. The teacher started the introduction to the math class by repeating the knowledge of the multiplication table using the Catch and Throw method. The teacher asked questions and threw the ball, and the students caught the ball with full concentration and answered the question. Then the students repeated the multiples of five through the Day-Night game. The students of the fourth grade were joined by the students of the seventh grade, and with their mediation, they solved mathematical problems using tablets. In the end, they had fun with a song in English and at the same time repeated how to pronounce the numbers up to twenty in English.

Treći sat sam promatrao još jedan četvrti razred i njihove aktivnosti na satu matematike. Učiteljica je u nedostatku interaktivne ploče projicirala materijale na bijelu ploču te su učenici rješavali zadatke pomoću markera. Na tabletima su rješavali matematičke zadatke kroz aplikaciju Blooket. Kroz igru učenici su sa boljim rješavanjem dobivali virtualni novac koji su trošili za skrb životinja (virualnih).

In the third lesson, I observed other fourth graders and their activities in math class. In the absence of an interactive board, the teacher projected the materials on the whiteboard and the students solved the tasks using markers. They solved math problems on tablets through the Blooket application. Through the game, students with better solutions received virtual money, which they spent on the care of animals (virtual).

Kao učitelj matematike najviše pozornosti posvetio sam upravo četvrtom satu kada sam promatrao izvođenje jednog sata matematike u sedmom razredu. Učiteljica je primjenom interaktivne ploče s učenicima provjerila uspješnost rješavanja domaće zadaće. Bavili su se proširivanjem i skraćivanjem razlomaka. Učiteljica je u radu neprestano koristila digitalni interaktivni udžbenik i interaktivnu ploču.

As a math teacher, I paid the most attention to the fourth lesson when I observed the performance of a math lesson in the seventh grade. Using an interactive whiteboard, the teacher checked the success of solving homework with the students. They dealt with expanding and shortening fractions. The teacher constantly used a digital interactive textbook and an interactive board in her work.

Slobodno vrijeme poslijepodne proveo sam s gospodinom Iztokom, kojem sam veoma zahvalan za vođenje i upoznavanje s glavnim gradom Slovenije, Ljubljanom. Prošetali smo se do Prešernovog trga, zatim preko Zmajskog mosta do srednjevjekovne tvrđave s uspinjačom tzv. Ljubljanskog grada. Predivan pogled pružao se nad cijelom Ljubljanom.

I spent my free time in the afternoon with Mr. Iztok, to whom I am very grateful for guiding me and introducing me to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. We walked to Prešerno Square, then across the Dragon Bridge to the medieval fortress with the so-called funicular of the Ljubljana city. There was a wonderful view over the whole of Ljubljana.

4. 10. 2023. 

Visok obrazovni standard ogleda se u činjenici koliko su svi posvećeni obrazovanju učenika s posebnim potrebama. Prisustvovao sam nastavi koju je učiteljica izvodila s jednim učenikom kojem je dijagnosticirana disleksija. Učenik kroz igru rješava vizualne zagonetke s ciljem poboljšanja pažnje. Dalje u primjeni koristi se tabletom i aplikacijom Kobi. Aplikacijom učenik skenira tekst te dobiva podršku za čitanje istog. Navedena aplikacija trenutno je dostupna samo u Sloveniji s obzirom da je tu i razvijena, ali postoje težnje za internacionalizacijom.

The high educational standard is reflected in the fact that everyone is dedicated to the education of students with special needs. I attended a teacher's class with a student diagnosed with dyslexia. Through the game, the student solves visual puzzles with the aim of improving attention. Further in application, it is used with a tablet and the Kobi application. With the application, the student scans the text and receives support for reading it. The mentioned application is currently only available in Slovenia, considering that it was developed there, but there are aspirations for internationalization.

Sljedeći sat kojem sam prisustvovao je bio u petom razredu. Učiteljica je učenicima pripremila interaktivni radni listić u aplikaciji Live Worksheets. Učenici su rješavajući radni listić na računalima ponovili pretvaranje mjernih jedinica za masu i duljinu. Nerijetko za vježbu koriste web site https://interaktivne-vaje.si/ gdje se nalaze različite vježbe, poput Edutorija.

The next class I attended was in fifth grade. The teacher prepared an interactive worksheet for the students in the Live Worksheets application. Solving the worksheet on the computers, the students repeated the conversion of measurement units for mass and length. They often use the website https://interaktivne-vaje.si/ for practice, where there are various exercises, such as Edutori.


Najstariji učenici u školi, učenici devetog razreda, na satu engleskog jezika pokazali su osim dobrog poznavanja engleskog jezika i empatiju prema društvenim problemima te odgovoran pristup grupnoj nastavi. Učenici su putem video zapisa na YouTubeo upoznati o problemima ovisnosti o društvenim mrežama i digitalnim tehnologijama. Kroz rad u skupinama iznosili su različite probleme ovisnosti prisutnih u društvu. Raspravu su proveli putem kviza izrađenog u aplikaciji Kahoot.

The oldest students in the school, the students of the ninth grade, in the English class showed, in addition to good knowledge of the English language, empathy towards social problems, and a responsible approach to group teaching. Through videos on YouTube, students were introduced to the problems of addiction to social networks and digital technologies. Through work in groups, they presented various addiction problems present in society. They conducted the discussion through a quiz created in the Kahoot application.

Na kraju ovog radnog dana prisustvovao sam nastavi informatike koja se izvodi kao kombinacija s učenicima petog i šestog razreda. Učenici su različitih predznanja, ali učitelj ih je vješto podijelio u skupine. Prioritetni zadaci su osnove programiranja koje učenici stječu kroz vizualno programiranje u Scratchu. Pojedini učenici pokazali su zavidnu kreativnost pri rješavanju zadataka.

At the end of this working day, I attended a computer science class, which is conducted as a combination with fifth and sixth grade students. The students have different prior knowledge, but the teacher skillfully divided them into groups. The priority tasks are the basics of programming that students acquire through visual programming in Scratch. Some students showed enviable creativity when solving tasks.

Slobodno poslijepodne proveo sam u šetnji gradom Kamnikom, te sam obišao Mali dvorac i gradsku jezgru.

I spent the free afternoon walking around the town of Kamnik, visiting the Little Castle and the town center.

5. 10. 2023. 

Četvrti dan smo započeli s glazbenom kulturom, odnosno izvannastavnim satom sviranja. Učiteljica je s učenicima sedmog razreda obradila nekoliko pjesmica koje su učenici naučili svirati na klavijaturama. Na ovom su satu učenici u informatičkoj učionici putem aplikacije Song Maker skladali svoje kompozicije. Svaki je učenik u svom radu koristio slušalice. Odlična je integracija aplikacije na platformu eAsistent koja je namjenjena učiteljima, učenicima i roditeljima za praćenje, vrednovanje i suradnju; pandan našoj platformi e-Dnevnik.

We started the fourth day with musical culture, i.e. extracurricular playing class. The teacher covered several songs with the students of the seventh grade, which the students learned to play on the keyboard. In this class, students composed their compositions in the IT classroom using the Song Maker application. Every student used headphones in their work. The integration of the application on the eAsistent platform, which is intended for teachers, students, and parents for monitoring, evaluation, and cooperation, is excellent; a counterpart to our e-Dnevnik platform.

U nastavku sam promatrao sat matematike u trećem razredu. Učenici su putem tableta rješavali interaktivne radne listiće. Zadatke su rješavali samostalno i u paru. Prisutno je često formativno vrednovanje. Kao i mnogo druge, učionica je izuzetno dobro opremljena i fino uređena. Jedan dio u učionici su izdvojili kao osobnu knjižnicu.

Below I observed a third-grade math class. Students solved interactive worksheets using tablets. They solved the tasks independently and in pairs. Formative evaluation is often present. Like many others, the classroom is extremely well-equipped and finely decorated. They set aside one part of the classroom as a personal library.

Treći sat promatrao sam sat geografije u sedmom razredu. Učenici su nastavili sa izradom seminarskog rada. Četvrti sat je bio sat slovenskog jezika koji su učenici šestog razreda imali u informatičkoj učionici. Učenici su rješavali različite kvizove vezane uz uporabu interpunkcijskih znakova.

For the third hour, I observed a geography lesson in the seventh grade. The students continued with the preparation of the seminar paper. The fourth class was the Slovenian language class that the sixth-grade students had in the IT classroom. Students solved various quizzes related to the use of punctuation marks.

Za kraj ovog dana promatrao sam izvođenje nastave prirode i društva s učenicima četvrtog razreda, te sat povijesti s učenicima devetog razreda. Učiteljica je na satu prirode i društva od javne pomoći kao što su UNICEF, Crveni križ Slovenije, Vatrogasci itd. Učenici su ovu nastavu realizirali kao istraživačku nastavu s tabletima te rad u heterogenim skupinama. Poticajno je vidjeti kako i učenici nižiš uzrasta samostalno i istraživački realiziraju svoje odgojno-obrazovne ishode i ciljeve. Sasvim je očigledno da učitelj povijesti nije imao mnogo poteškoća s uvođenjem najstarijih učenika u istraživačku nastavu. Oni su na računalima pretraživali povijesne izvore te otkrivali koje je uloge imala žena u prvom svjetskom ratu. Učitelj ne nameće svoje mišljenje, traži logičko zaključivanje na temelju povijesnih izvora.

At the end of this day, I observed the performance of the nature and society lesson with fourth-grade students and the history lesson with ninth-grade students. The teacher in the lesson on nature and society is from public assistance such as UNICEF, Red Cross of Slovenia, Firemen, etc. The students realized this lesson as a research lesson with tablets and worked in heterogeneous groups. It is encouraging to see how the students of the lower age group realize their educational outcomes and goals independently and in a research way. It is quite obvious that the history teacher did not have much difficulty in introducing the oldest students to research classes. They searched historical sources on computers and discovered what roles women played in the First World War. The teacher does not impose his opinion, he seeks logical conclusions based on historical sources.

Umalo sam zaboravio, najljepši dio dana uslijedio je poslijepodne zahvaljujući Iztoku te njegovim kolegicama Bredi i Patriciji koji su me odveli u obilazak Bledskog jezera. Naporan dan smo završili s tradicionalnim bledskim kremšnitama.

I almost forgot, the most beautiful part of the day came in the afternoon thanks to Iztok and his colleagues Breda and Patricia who took me on a tour of Lake Bled. We ended the hard day with traditional Bled cream cheese.


6. 10. 2023. 

Posljednjeg dana praćenja nastava pored već viđenog sata geografije, prisustvovao sam satu najmlađih. U prvom razredu učenici su izrađivali memory kartice tako što je svaki učenik na dva listića papira crtao identičnu sličicu. Veći naglasak se stavlja na odgojnim ciljevima i disciplini u razredu, no ni obrazovni ciljevi nisu zanemareni. Iako tako mali, učenici su imali formativno vrednovanje u vidu samovrednovanja. Njihovi nešto malo stariji drugari iz drugog razreda imali su sat u informatičnoj učionici. Upoznati su s opremom i odgovornim korištenjem iste te su kroz igru u programu Paint vježbali uporabu računalnog miša. Za kraj sam promatrao sat engleskog jezika u šestom razredu koji su u heterogenim skupinama radili na tabletima. U radu su učenici vježbali pisano izražavanje na engleskom jeziku. Svoje radove objavili su na aplikaciji Padlet.

On the last day of monitoring classes, in addition to the already-seen geography class, I attended a class for the youngest. In the first grade, students made memory cards by each student drawing an identical picture on two pieces of paper. Greater emphasis is placed on educational goals and discipline in the classroom, but educational goals are not neglected either. Although so small, the students had formative evaluations in the form of self-evaluation. Their slightly older friends from the second grade had a class in the computer room. They were introduced to the equipment and its responsible use, and they practiced using a computer mouse through a game in the Paint program. Finally, I observed an English class in the sixth grade who were working on tablets in heterogeneous groups. In the work, students practiced written expression in English. They published their works on the Padlet application.

Posljednjeg radnog dana uvečer sam otišao u još jednu šetnju gradom. Uz mnogo toga viđenog, predivnih ljudi, sustava koji vodi brigu o svemu i svima ostalo mi je samo jedno neodgonetnuto pitanje. Zašto je ovaj grad tako prazan?

On the evening of the last working day, I went for another walk around the city. With a lot of things seen, wonderful people, and a system that takes care of everything and everyone, I have only one unsolved question left. Why is this city so empty?

7. 10. 2023. 

Priznajem da sam se sad već dovoljno umorio i zaželio obitelji.  Put do kuće trajao je gotovo deset sati.

I admit that I'm already tired enough and longing for my family. The journey home took almost ten hours.
