HUMAN FORMATION
Aspirants, through careful and gradual experiences, are to appreciate the gifts and abilities that have been given to them. Understanding and perfecting one's character is of fundamental importance in adolescence. (cf. RF 63)
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
The heart of spiritual formation is personal union with Christ. Therefore, aspirants are to strengthen their own bonds of unions with God through Christ which arises from and is especially nourished by silent and prolonged prayer... able to acquire self-mastery, spirit of renunciation, and ability to give one's life generously to Jesus and his brothers.
intellectual FORMATION
Aspirants are to understand that study, besides being an indispensable means for better understanding and transmitting the values that the school and culture offer, is also a means of learning responsibility, research, personal growth, and faithfulness to one's duty.
FORMATION FOR RELIGIOUS LIFE
Aspirants are to introduce themselves to the knowledge and practice of the evangelical counsels. (cf. RF 83)
PASTORAL FORMATION
Aspirants are to cultivate the following sensitivities: fidelity to God by always seeking His will, fidelity to the Church by following her teachings; fidelity to fellow humans by enculturating the Gospel in their situations of life; and fidelity to the charism of the Oblates which is our way of serving the Church. (cf. RF 84)
In the First Rules of the Congregation, the Oblates are reminded that this venerable family has "for its purpose the sanctification of the members". Thus for this reason, the Province considers the formation of both aspirants and of those who have already professed their vows of utmost significance.
