Olympus Society of Davao Inc. (OSDI) was chosen as one of the Community-based Organization recognized by the City Health Office and Department of Health Region 11 through the Global Fund NFR HIV Project whose primary recipient is Save the Children Philippines. The organization bested the other CBOs because of its active participation in the city’s activities, not only on HIV & AIDS but also in endeavors that promote and protect LGBT’s rights and welfare.
Having signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Save the Children Philippines, part of the agreement is the office wherein the operation of the community-based activity will be conducted that will function as a community center, which will also serve as a group to coordinate with other CBOs and LGBT community groups in the city for free services including HIV counselling and screening, that operate from Monday to Sunday (4pm-10pm).
Olympus Society of Davao Inc. is the prime mover in organizing the First LGBT coalition in Davao City last March of 2015 with up until now having a solid members of Moreton 40 LGBT Groups all over Davao city.
Olympus Society of Davao Inc. with the aid of Department of health manage to recruit 30 Peer educators, 15 HIV Counselors and Picker’s.
