Galaxy Formation Group
Galaxies@LU

The Galaxy Formation Group (Galaxies@LU) is a research group dedicated to theoretical models of galaxy formation in a cosmological context. Using state-of-the-art computer simulations, we explore a wide range of topics, including how galaxies form in a cosmological context, galaxy evolution, star formation in the interstellar medium, stellar feedback processes, and the origins of galactic outflows.

The group, led by Oscar Agertz, consists of permanent staff, postdocs, PhD students and Master students. It is funded by generous grants from the research councils, foundations and agencies listed above, as well as supercomputer allocations from NAISS, EuroHPC, and Lunarc.
