Oscar Macias

Hello! I am an Assistant Professor in multi-messenger astronomy at San Francisco State University and a Visiting Scientist at the Center of Excellence in Gravitation and Astroparticle Physics, University of Amsterdam.

I am a member of the GRAND (Giant Radio Array for Neutrino Detection) and CTA (Cherenkov Telescope Array) collaborations, interested in ultra-high energy neutrino detection, gamma-ray astronomy, and AI applications in astrophysics.

I graduated with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Canterbury at the end of 2014. My thesis advisor was Chris Gordon, and before moving to my current position, I was a GRAPPA Prize Fellow at the University of Amsterdam.
